1. The short version
We store two things in your browser, both needed to sign you in and keep the site working. We use no analytics and no advertising. There is nothing to opt out of.
2. What this covers
This notice explains what we store in your browser when you use societyofhonorarydoctors.org or the member platform, and what you can turn off. It sits alongside our privacy notice, which explains everything else we do with information about you.
3. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. It lets the site recognise your browser the next time you arrive. Some of what we use is not strictly a cookie: signing you in relies on a token held in your browser's local storage. We treat both the same way here, because the question that matters is what is stored and why.
4. What we use
4.1 Strictly necessary
These make the service work. They cannot be turned off from within the site, because without them you cannot sign in or stay signed in.

4.2 Analytics
We do not use analytics. Nothing on the website or the platform counts your visit, follows you between pages, or builds a profile of what you read.
Our servers keep ordinary logs of requests, which include IP addresses, for security and to fix faults. Those are logs, not cookies, and nothing is stored in your browser for them. The privacy notice covers them.
If we add analytics later, we will say here what it is and what it measures, and we will ask you first if it needs your agreement.
4.3 Advertising
None. We do not advertise, we do not allow third parties to advertise to you through us, and we set nothing in your browser for that purpose.
5. Embedded content
Some pages may include content from elsewhere, such as a video or a map. Where they do, that provider can set its own cookies and its own privacy notice applies. We will name any such provider here before it appears on the site.

6. Your choices
Everything we store is strictly necessary to sign you in and keep the service working, so there is nothing here to switch off and no banner asking you to.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the ones above, the platform will not be able to sign you in.
If we ever add something that is not strictly necessary, we will ask before we set it.
7. Changes
We will update this notice when what we use changes. The version and date are at the top.
